Guardianships

Guardianship Applications can be complex but our experienced team of Solicitors is able to assist.

Where creation of a Power of Attorney is not possible, it may be that a suitable individual is required to apply to the Court to be appointed as Guardian to an adult who is without capacity. We provide specific and tailored advice based on individual circumstances and will discuss with you if an application to the Court is required to obtain welfare and/or financial powers. This is a complex and detailed process requiring professionals to produce reports and for these to be presented in an application to satisfy the Court that an order is necessary and appropriate.

Keeping clients updated throughout the process, through to completion of the Court action, we can also advise on ongoing duties once an individual is appointed as a Guardian.

Legal aid is available if appropriate.
