Agriculture & Rural

Our Rural Law expertise covers the forestry, farming, fishing and food sectors allowing us to advise landowners, tenants and producers. Whether it’s Crofting Law, an agricultural tenancy, land ownership or rural business restructure, we can provide extensive expertise in all negotiations.

Being at the heart of Ayrshire for over a century, we have dealt with a wide range of Rural Law including the buying and selling of all types of property: estates, farms, fields and agricultural buildings, farmhouses, country houses and cottages, sporting and crofting estates, fishing rights, forests and woodlands.

We also have extensive experience in matters such as diversification, sporting rights and renewable energy.

Acting for both lenders and borrowers, we advise on taking/granting security over rural assets as well as dealing with and advising on rights of access, drainage and services, mineral rights and title conditions.

Our Rural Law solicitors, Alastair McDonald and Fiona Connolly, can also advise on the drafting of partnership agreements.
